Well, from being asked to be a trustee of the WLLD charity (White Lodge Long Dogs - the rescue as distinct from the boarding kennels) at the start of the month at Uppingham Show, to getting the feeling that all was not as it should be on the dog walk, to this :-

So the time has come to realise it has to come to an end. We have one dog left on our waiting list, which we will accept when we have room. That dog will be the last one in; once the last dog is rehomed, then we are going to close the rescue.

The above is an extract from an e-mail sent out by Claire. To say I was gob-smacked would be the understatement of the year; and saddened too. Hounds in need have lost a good ally.
I guess I should say that White Lodge Boarding Kennels and Cattery is continuing as normal, it is only the rescue that is closing.
