Uppingham Show
The day was sunny with cloud and from time to time, a bit breezy. As the show ground is at the top(ish) of a hill, when the sun went in it was a bit chilly to start with, but the breeze did drop off and the cloud disappear, so it turned out a nice afternoon.

The White Lodge Stand
The nice thing about the Uppingham Show from Monty's point of view was that he neither got a bash on the bonce, or had to listen to a marching band (see Oakham Carnival or Monty's Bad Day Out.
My hair, still blue/black from Claire and Gary's party, continued to cause amusement among those assembled, particulary Julie.

Me with Dark Hair
It seems (and shows how much I know) that 1) there's a committee to run the rescue side of White Lodge, and 2) they are now so successful that they need to become a charity as they raise so much money.

Claire Spoiling a Dog
I suppose it should have been obvious that there is a committee; after all, things don't just happen. Anyway, point of this is that Gill and I were asked if we would like to become trustees of the charity, as they are looking for responsible people (shows you can fool some of the people some of the time). And of course we would as hopefully it would help out with the running of things by taking some of the strain (boring admin etc.) off Claire and Gary and the others who put shed loads of time in.
So what of the show? All in all it seemed to be a good day with £180 raised, a hound rehomed subject to home visit, and we got the chance to parade the hounds round the ring and for Claire to give a bit of spiel about White Lodge and the work they do.
