White Lodge Walk
Beacon Hill is my favourite of all the White Lodge walk sites, but for some it is a bit of a struggle. (Beacon Hill, as it name suggests, is a hill used in days gone by for displaying beacons, and it is ideally suited being a large hill in an other wise flat surrounding area. It is actually a very old (I hope) volcano.) So to make it easier for those not wanting to do the bottom to top and back again route, a second start time was arranged leaving the top car park, timed to meet up with the athletic walkers from below.
Our goal was to be at the earlier start from the bottom. We failed - miserably - and so joined the short walk.

Beacon Hill with Beasts
It was a really nice day, and superb turn out. We met Claire's new helper at the kennels (and I can't remeber her name - sorry!!) who commented on how well the Beastly Beasts got on when they stayed the week before. She must be a very nice lady 'coz Monty was pleased to see her - and that's good enough for me.

Look What I've Rolled In
Having had a chat with people, the Beasts and I went and did the long walk by ourselves so that they had had a decent day out. And if you remeber the Two Ronnies spoof on the Hovis advert - it's bloody long way up that hill.
