Meet and Greet at Coventry Pets at Home
Yesterday me and the uvver Beasts got sent, well taken, to Coventry. We was on duty outside the Pets at Home store to raise some dosh for uvver grey'ounds wot need 'omes; seein' as 'ow we've got an 'alf decent gaff, we reckon it's only fair to try an' 'elp some of our mates get the same fing.
We pitched up about 'alf ten to find some uvver 'ounds already there. They 'ad been there early like, and probably wanted a kip, so after a bit they went off 'ome.
And so to the serious business of the day; accosting punters and getting dosh out of 'em. Now, even though I do say so myself, I am pretty 'ot on the accosting front. It also means you get lots of cuddles and strokes, so in my book it ain't worth 'angin' back. Worked too.

Accostin' a Punter
Kai, as always, got loads of "Ohhs" and "Arrrs" from the women, and Jack did 'is magic wiv the kids. Monty don't put 'imself out too much at these things - 'e's just there to swell the numbers. And Maple, well, she did betta than I though she might. Bein' nervous of strangers she weren't too 'appy to start wiv, but she got the 'ang of it 'alf way through the day. And bein' small she got a bit of the old symapthy vote like.

Monty 'avin' a Hug - with Maple in the Background
Just after lunch anuvver couple of 'ounds pitched up, Nellie and Eva. Eva was pretty stunnin'!! Talk about glossy; Wheeww!!! Actually, she's a dead spit for Monty (no I don't fancy 'im!!), just better lookin' and not a bloke. Anyway, got chattin', as you do, and 'eard about what 'appened to 'er. The 'umans (if you can call 'em 'umans) burnt out the tattos in 'er ears so they couldn't be traced before they kicked 'er out. I've got my own ideas about wot should 'appen to lumps of manky cats poo like that; sure you've got some too.

Eva
Now, got to tell ya. Loads of the people we talked to reckon that wot 'appens to 'ounds after the racin' is terrible. 'Course it is, but point bein' nearly everyone said so. So I reckon the message is finally gettin' 'ome about wot really goes on. And it gave us a chance to tell 'em about 'ounds like Monty wot don't want to race and wot 'appens to them.

Eva and Nellie
Eva's bit like Kai when it comes to fireworks though; neither of 'em like 'em. There was a couple of bangers wot we 'eard goin' off. Kai was straight in the shop for a bit, and Eva 'id in one of the kennels!!
We 'ad some nice chats durin' the day. One lady 'ad re'omed an' 'ound, only for 'er to 'ave nine pups!!! Luckily she's got 'omes for most of 'em wiv friends and family, and she's talkin' to the right people to 'elp with any left. One of 'er 'uman puppies is called Jack, that's 'im below wiv our Jack.

A Pair o' Jack's
Loads of people fought we was lookin' for 'omes, and for once dad din't make 'is usual joke about they could 'ave us. One lady called Victoria was well taken with yours T. She said she was looking to re'ome a dog, but 'ad never considered grey'ounds; but now she had met me she thought per'aps she might just do that. So she went away with all the blurb, and 'opefully she might just grab a grey for 'erself.
So 'ow did we do? Don't know that exact amount yet, but dad reckoned 'is tin was pretty full, so 'eres 'opin' for a big number. Soon as we know we'll stick a comment 'ere.
Cheers,
Troy
