White Lodge Walk

Yesterday was de White Lodge Walk, and once again it turned out to be anudder dog swap for us Beasts. But Oi get ahead of meself.

Before de walk we went to see Aunty Claire. We'd not seen her since we went to London for de Greyhound Gathering. Aunty Wendy was dere too, so we went and played in de paddock for a bit whoile dey went out.

Den we went for de walk at de Burrough Hill. Der was lots of people der whit dere humans, some were friends we knew, but it was great to see some new faces so it was.

Dat's better - dere are some

Well, roight from de start it was hand out us Beasts loike confetti, trown to de four winds we were, and whoever caught us got de privlidge of walking whit us; always happens we come here. Even Maple went off whit Sholly's mum (Sholly used to be called Shoulders - he's a noice lad). She said afterwards dat she was scared at first - being away from dad loike, but soon realised dat de lady was very noice really. Troy being Troy went from human to human, but ended up whit Buddy's family, loike he usually does.

Oi tink everyone had a noice time; Mavis certainly did 'coz she ran around without any humans; apparently hers always come back or dey're where she can foind dem - lucky girl. Mind you, it got too much for Cherry on de way back, and she had to have a lie down so she did.

I tink de best bit dat all us hounds; well, now, Oi say hounds. Oi'll be digressing a bit here. Dis is a White Lodge Walk, roight? Dat means pointy hounds; greyhounds, lurchers, and de loike. Dere's sometimes de odd one or two dat's not pointy dat sneak in, but today we had loads; dere was Poppy and Bumpy and Moo whit Wendy, and dere was at least tree udders too.

So when Oi say hounds, Oi'm including dem too. Back to what Oi was sayin'. De best bit dat all us hounds loike is at de end of de walk 'coz dat's when de humans come round and give us noice tings loike suasages and liver cake and stuff. Dad said we wouldn't be needin' our tea de amount we'd had. Just who does he tink he's kiddin'?

After de walk we went back to Aunty Clair's again and Spike and Cherry came too. Cherry had recovered by dis toime, and went for a good run in de paddock. We let de humans go and have some treats for demselves, and den it was toime to go home for our tea.

So Hi to everyone dat was dere, and we hope to be seein' you again soon.

Love and licks,
Jack

Hiya boys and Miss Marple, sorry i mean Maple, oops!
Looks like you all had a good time, that Cherry looks a bit of a goer! Sorry you had to cart all those humans round though, too lazy to walk on their own or what?
