February's White Lodge Walk

Dad chose where this one was going to be; Watermead Country Park. We went and checked it out when we took Shaggy to meet his now mum and dad.

Talking of Shaggy, he was there and gave dad a great big hug when he saw him, which, truth be told, made dad's day.

And he said "Hello" to Maple, which made her day, which was nice as she was feeling a bit under the weather 'coz she cut her leg and bruised her chest when we were at Salcey on Wednesday.

We were a bit late getting their, only by a couple of minutes, but the Beast Bus doesn't go quite as fast as dad's car. Didn't like the Beast Bus to start with, vans used to mean something nasty was about to happen to me; 'course, now I know the Beast Bus means a walk - straight in.

So like I say, a few minutes late, and by the time we got there there was loads of people and humans standing around in the sunshine. I think we were about the last to get there 'coz soon after we arrived we all set off, with us and Millie and Bess bringing up the rear. But we soon caught up with everyone when they turned around and came back; the path round the lake was too muddy, so we decided to go and have a look round King Lear Lake, which is where we went last time.

As always we met up with our old friends; here's just a few:

And we met some new ones:

When were here last time you could get right round King Lear lake, but today the river at the end was all over the path. 'Course, all the hounds were up for it, but the humans said no, and when they say no like that it's usually best to keep them happy or they go into a right strop.

So we had a mooch around and a chat in the sunshine.

Then it was time to head back to the Beast Bus, where before heading home there was the usual treats. It's always worth putting on your most unfed face; trouble is, nearly everyone does it!!

So even though we couldn't get all the way round the lake, we enjoyed ourselves, and hope to see everyone again soon.
