Meet and Greet and Walk at Salcey Forest - May BH

We usually tell you about what we've been up to - this time it's about what we're going to get up to.

We are doing a two day session for Greyhound Gap over the early May Bank Holiday - Sun 6th and Mon 7th May - at Salcey Forest between 10am and 4pm each day.

We'll be doing a Meet and Greet and mugging people for their money collecting donations from the public, and because it's such a brilliant place to go for a walk we thought it would be good to do just that. So on each day we'll be setting off at 11:30 and 2 o'clock for a walk (leaving someone and some hounds at the stall of course). The walks are on good paths, so decent shoes as opposed to wellies is the order of the day.

Salcey Forest is located about six miles south of Northampton near the village of Hartwell, just a few minutes from J15 of the M1 (click here for directions). As well as the walks (which includes the treetop walk), there is a cafe, child play area, and loos.

There are links to maps and more information about Salcey Forest on The Beastly Beasts home page.

Regular reader of BeastBlog will know that we like at Salcey, and so do loads of other people - it can get quite busy at weekends - so there should be loads of people who's attention we can attract.

At the Coventry and Northampton Pets at Home Meet and Greets we did pretty well, and we're hoping for good things this time too.

Please come and join us over the Bank Holiday if you possibly can - we'd love to see you.

Hey guys! I stumbled across you on Dogs with Blogs and I'm glad I did! Great blog. While I couldn't be physically more different from a greyhound I'm still a big fan of greyhound rescue! My sister Ethel is part greyhound. And she's a little beastly. I'm a lot beastly!

I'm looking forward to reading you regularly.

wally.

Hey Beasties! It's so great to meet you. Wally sent us over an we are very glad he did. I still remember the first time I ever met a greyhound and fell in love instantly. They are such sweet and loving dogs. I was totally blown away by them. One day, Sophie might just find herself the proud sister of a beastly beast just like these guys.

Tom and Cheeze say they may just drag themselves out of their respective boudoirs long enough to join you, bringing their personal body slaves along of course. Selwyn the foster dog will hopefully also be in attendance.

Helloooo fellow Hounds! True, I am a scent, not sight, hound, and you're faster, and sleeker, but I can be beastly. I look forward to reading you regularly too!

Wimsey,

Great to meet you old chap. Sorry for the delay in replying, but our chef cum chauffeur was packed off to Japan last week for "business" (whatever that may be - something to do with getting dog food tokens I think - however, I digress), so we have been relaxing at chez White Lodge for a few days, which unfortunately does not provide internet access in the rooms.

All of us here like your blog, and think that living in Manhatten sounds exceptionally fine (though it may be slightly limiting for as we do rather enjoy the opportunity to run - and all that traffic - what?); and being named after one of our famous detectives is dashed spiffy; I rather like Lord Peter Wimsey myself, a man of fine manners; like your good self no doubt.

Speak more soon.

Regards,
Kai
