April's White Lodge Walk

What a weekend!! Saturday we went to Salcey Forest and Dad handed out loads of leaflets about our weekend there in a few weeks time. Then Sunday, yesterday, was well manic - we took Dino to meet his new forever family, got the results of our blood from last week, went for a walk up Beacon Hill, and came home with Dick!! I'll do it bit by bit.

This months White Lodge walk was at Beacon Hill, one of our favourites, and it was bit special 'coz Dino's new family had come all the way from Liverpool to meet him and take him to his forever home. We've had a laugh with Dino, me especially, even though he's only been here a week; he's well up for anything.

His new humans had come from Liverpool (dad says that's quite a way) to meet him, so he went on the walk with them.

Troy was nabbed by Jasper's mum - Troy likes walking with Jasper - and we didn't see him 'til we go to the top - well apart from the team pic that is.

As you know, last weekend we gave blood; well, Wendy and Craig from Pet Blood Bank UK had come on the walk to enroll loads more hounds. Wendy told us that Kai's and Troy's donations had already been used in an operation down south - just shows how important this is - might be one of us that need it one day, though I hope not!!! Before we set off on the walk all the hounds that were there that had donated blood got together for a team pic.

Wendy gave dad the results of our blood tests, Kai and Troy are DEA 1.1+, me - I'm DEA 1.1-. And here's another good reason for doing the blood thing - your blood gets tested, and it seems I've got "one raised enzyme level", which to you and me is something to do with my liver, and while it's probably OK it's something that Craig said I should get checked next time I'm at the vet. Seeing as they now have my results too that's no big deal.

Anyway - back to the walk - and plenty of our mates were on it; like Hooch, who's back in clink with his girl friend, Lucy, through no fault of their own;

How many hounds can you get on the top of Beacon Hill? Quite a few; we reckon there were over 40 yesterday.

Lots of hounds

and here's some of them.

Going back to the blood doning thing - here's Rudy who lives with Caleb - he's a donor!!

And if you're going be a healthy hound, what better way to do than having vets for your humans, this is Fennel who has Wendy and Craig.

While we had been on the walk, Aunty Claire had been looking after the stall for PBBuk, and when we all got back was getting people to sign up:

and Wing Co Mortimer made sure it went OK.

Then it was happy/sad time; time to say goodbye to Dino. But before he went his mum wanted a pic of us all together - and here we are.

Dino as a Beastly Beast

All of us at the Beastly Beasts want to wish Dino all the best in his new gaff, but mate "Calm down, calm down!!".

So a fab walk with loads going on, and there was still more to happen. We went to back to Aunty Claire's to see if anyone else needed some time in a home, and guess what - there was, and so we came home with Dick who is going to stay with us until he finds his forever home.

So you see, yesterday was all go. And today we went and met even more people, but one of the others will tell you about that later.

Bye for now,
Monty

That photo of the Gingas is just stunning. They always look so butter-wouldn't-melt inscrutible yet you just know they're plotting something together, don't you?
