Blood Donors and Fosters

So having said "cheerio" to Sarraf, we moved on to the next task of the day. You may recall that a few weeks back we gave blood. Today we had to pose for a picture for the Melton Times; they wanted to tell people about PetBloodBank UK, and we were the models, along with Lucy and Hooch.

That didn't take very long, but the one thing that I did find a bit off is that the chappy taking the pictures asked the humans their names, but none of us. One would like to point out that it was us that gave the blood you know!!

And that wasn't the day over. With Dick turning into Sarraf and off to a new home, and with Maple's demise, we had two spaces in Beastville. The rest of us had had a chat, and we agreed that we would have two people to stay; it kind of makes Maple's passing mean something, and we're sure she'd approve.

So we met some of the other hounds that were currently staying at White Lodge. After due consideration we decided we'd ask Lucy and Hooch to come and stay for a bit, and I am very pleased to say they said "yes". Jack did his usual "Oi'm de man" with Lucy - who totally ignored him.

So please welcome Lucy and Hooch as honourary Beastly Beasts.

Hooch

BeastBlog readers that have been with us from the early days may remember Hooch; we met him a couple of years back at the Melton Show. Soon after that some humans couldn't decide if they wanted to live with him or Lucy, so deciced to live with both. But now they have come back to stay at White Lodge, but much prefer a home - which is why they said yes to us, while they choose some new humans.

Dad went to have a spot of lunch with Aunty Claire and her hounds; then it was off to Salcey Forest for a walk. Well, you've never seen anything like it. It took us ages to get anywhere due to people stopping us for a chat. Nearly all of them said we were lovely - the humans are quite astute round here you know, and all in all it took well over two hours to do the walk.

Having left home just after 9 o'clock, we got back about 4:30 having been up all day. We were all dead tired, and even Lucy and Hooch went to bed not long after we had had our tea.

So a busy day today, but a very good one.
