Off to Live in a Shed

Your Hoochness
Lucy and I came to stay with The Beastly Beasts towards the end of April. I must admit I wasn't relishing the idea of living with even more hounds, one was enough, but actually it's been rather fun - well, once I realised what the human chappie wanted of me.
Being an Oxford graduate one did have certain expectations, and indeed these were realised from time to time in our previous residence. However, the chappie here rules the pack, and it was soon clear that there was a distinct hierarchy with Lucy and myself at the bottom and feeding from the deli counter (humans call it the "worktop") and tuck shops ("bins" according to humans) was not permitted. Still, the tucker is regular and pretty decent so not having use of the facilities was a small price to pay. Lucy - butter would melt - adhered straight away, but then food doesn't seem so important to her.

At Salcey Forest
And of course there are the walks, particularly at Salcey Forest. The Beastly Beasts said we'd like it, and they were right - apparently everyone does. You can do your own thing there. Lucy hitched up with Monty and Troy and is in to everything. For myself, I teamed up with Jack. We like to appreciate our surroundings rather than just running around, and to leave messages for others that follow on as many vertical objects as we can.
So about this shed I'll be living in; the shed belongs to Shep (apparently he was a dog that used to be on TV), and I'll be living in a house in Shepshed with some nice humans called Sandra and Mark. And it will be just me - Lucy is not coming. In some ways that's a bit sad, but I think she's happier with the other chaps here, and it means I'll get all of the attention, which I'm rather looking forward to. And the lady's sister also has greyhounds, so it's not like I'll never have friends around.

Me in 2005
Monday will be my last day as a Beastly Beast; it will be a bit sad as I have enjoyed myself here, but I am looking forward to my new life too. I first met Kai, Monty and Jack back in May 2005 - two years before coming to stay with them; I hope it won't that long before I see them again. But for now it's thank you to all The Beastly Beasts for letting me stay for a while.

Well done Hooch. Its about time you got your permanent home. It'll be strange for you without Lucy and the rest of the gang, as I'm sure you've got used to them, but think of all the attention you'll get being an only boy!
Excellent result for both Hooch and Lucy. I'm sure Hooch will love his new 'forever' home and Lucy is a lovely addition to the Beasts' family. I wish them both all the luck in the world!
Good luck HoochBeast. That shed sounds really coool. You are one lucky dog!
