September Greyhound Gap Show
We got there about 9 o'clock and went for a walk. Rosie and I had a few words when we got out the van - she jumped on me and I told her off and she told me what I could do and .... You get the picture. Dad told us both off and made us make up. 'Spose it wasn't really her fault she landed on me.
Then mum and dad set up our stall - we were selling sweaters like the ones we've got from Laney at Greyt Sweaters, and our new badges and car stickers; Laney was kindly donating 10% to Gap and we adding all the profits from our bits. The weather was much nicer than last time; a bit breezy, but nice and warm when the sun came out.

The Gap Show
We'd sponsored one of the classes in the show - Most Handsome Dog; we didn't enter so everyone else stood a chance
. It was won by a very handsome lad called Bryn who came over with his humans to say thank you, and he persuaded them to buy a sweater for him - smart lad as well as handsome.
Bryn - The Handsomest Dog
Everyone thought the sweaters were fab - we like ours, and though we sold quite a few there weren't so many orders on the day. Lots of humans had been let out without their hounds though, and they took away the forms to fill in so they could get one; hope they do get one 'coz that's even more money for Gap.

Our First Customer
One lady who did order one wanted it just like mine, but pink and black - may be that's a Denise the Menace sweater.
Hooch was there too with his humans. He look remarkably chilled as always, and he has done a great job training them. His dad even made a joke about coming back for Lucy; no offence, but I'm not sure Lucy or Hooch are up for that. But who knows, he might just have a mate in the future. His mum's sister is owned by greyhounds too, and Hooch went in the Best Brace and got third; way to go Hooch.

Hooch - Mr. Cool
So what about Rosie? I know dad reckoned this was her big test to see if she deserved her reputation. Well, do you know what? She might be a big lass, but she's dead scared of being in a crowd she doesn't know. I know how she feels - I used to hate these shows and just wanted to go home. Now I know the score I quite like them; humans and hounds come and say "Hi", we get to see friends we don't see too often, we get to have snooze, we get treats, and we raise money for other hounds; so all in all a good day.

Hard at Work
Back to Rosie. To start with she stood and watched, then she went out of out little area with dad and let hound walk past her. Later on she went all round the show with Kai and they stopped to have a chat with people. Rosie said she was a bit nervous, but as Kai and dad were there she knew she didn't have to worry really - which is true. Then she stood outside our bit and people came said "Hi" to her too. Some humans came along to say hello specially to Rosie; they knew her before she became a Beastly Beast. They told her she was looking slimmer (always a good line with the girls) and very pretty (another good line). And not once during the day did she misbehave. Dad she was a star and he couldn't believe how good she had been, then they went off and dad got her a new Anna's collar, which I have to say does rather suit her.
Then it was the fancy dress and I went in as Dennis the Menace. Only thing was I had to wear a wig; if I'd wanted curly hair I'd have been a poodle. Still, it was a bit of a laugh, and I did get a "Special" rosette.

Me as Dennis the Menace
All in all a really good day. We had a nice time, Rosie was politeness itself (apart from when she jumped on me), and we raised a bit of money for hounds that need it. Overall the day has made £2,723 so far, and if anyone who took a form away orders a sweater they will add a bit to that too - get measuring!!
