Monty - Update

Had a call from the vet. Good news and bad news.

As I mentioned earlier Monty has broken the radius and ulna bones. The radius is the larger bone that takes all the weight. The break in the radius unfortunately was not clean but had a number of fragments making the operation relatively complex.

So complex in fact that while they managed to get good alignment the lower part of the limb was slightly rotated. If left this would lead to altered gait and potentially lameness in the future. The solution? Monty is back in theatre tomorrow to fix it.

It looks as though it will be two or three days before Monty is allowed home.

Hi there, I hope Monty recovers well. I had major surgery on my knee last winter. It took me three or four months to fully recover, but I'm doing great now!
