Blood doning Beasts

On Saturday something happened that had never happened before - all of us Beastly Beasts gave blood at the same session; Jack missed out first time we did, and I missed out on loads of sessions 'coz of my ALT levels and then 'coz of my leg.

We went over to Celtic Cross Vet Centre at Corby to do our donations. When we got there some people from a local radio station - Northants 96 - were there and took pics of some of us, and we are on their web site (we're the last two pics); how cool is that?

Another thing that's cool is how many donors Pet Blood Bank have now they have going for a year; over 400.

Each donation helps up to four dogs, so we might help up to 28 dogs with our donations; and that makes us feel quite proud. If you want to feel proud chances are you can donate too. Honest, it's dead easy and you get treats for lying down for 10 minutes.

I have just found you beasties, love all the pics of agility etc. Will stick you up on my links at
www.gorgeousgreyhounds.blogspot.com

By the way, we have just done a 6mth trial and error of correcting alopecia/BTS in our grey/white and I can honestly say, nothing really worked except a slight improvement when feeding wth higher GLA content or omega oils. We did not do a skin biopsy, due to the slight improvement and it being unnecessary to cause the skin trauma but will be doing that at a later date should skin become much worse.

As a result of a bald neck too, I designed a snood to cover it, you are most welcome to have the knitting pattern for charity/fundraising etc if you email me

My Human donates her own blood. I should look into donating mine, as well!
